Mary Clare Butler is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer from Chicago. She is the founder and creative director of Fata Morgana Press, an experimental studio operating at the intersection of printing, art, and design.

At Fata Morgana, Butler works with small businesses, cultural institutions, and community organizations to translate their ideas into compelling printed and digital communications.

Through process-driven offset and letterpress printing, her art practice investigates the relationship between modes of production and the environment. She received her MFA in Interdisciplinary Book and Paper Arts from Columbia College Chicago (2016) and her BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago (2009).
